Opera at Waterperry Gardens
Our performances are taking place in some amazing locations this year, not least the wonderful Waterperry Gardens, so why not make your visit extra special and arrive early to soak up the atmosphere of this beautiful venue?
Arrive early on the day of your ticket and enjoy the beautiful ornamental gardens at your leisure. Bring a picnic or order a hamper from the Waterperry Tea Shop. There is free onsite parking and a bar available in the interval. Explore the plant centre, garden & gift shops, gallery, museum and tea shop.

Dining at Waterperry
We welcome guests to picnic in the grounds of the Waterperry Gardens. Bring your own picnic, or you can book a Festival Hamper, you can enjoy your picnics by arriving early, well before the show begins or afterwards, if it’s a matinee that you are attending.
During the day visitors can also visit the Waterperry Tea-Shop for a leisurely lunch or afternoon tea. A bar near the gardens will also be serving alcoholic and soft beverages and snacks.
Tickets purchased for any of our Waterperry opera events include access to the stunning Waterperry Gardens; a magical place where you are surrounded by beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers, classical borders, secret corners and long vistas. You’ll also find a Formal Garden, the Mary Rose Garden, a Waterlily Canal and the Long Colour Border, and a recently planted small arboretum in the meadow area beyond the canal.
Other things to explore on the estate include Waterperry House, the Medieval church, the Art-in-Action Art Gallery, the Waterperry Museum and Garden Centre.
How to get to Waterperry
By Driving: Exit the M40 (Junction 8a (North Bound)/Junction 8 (South Bound)) and follow the brown signs for ‘Waterperry Gardens’. There is sufficient parking onsite at Waterperry for all our festival guests.
By Train: The nearest train station to Waterperry is Haddenham & Thame Parkway. There are regular trains to London Marylebone. From Haddenham & Thame Parkway you will need to prebook a taxi.
By Bus from Oxford: From Oxford City Centre take the Arriva Bus 280 to Church Road, Wheatley. From Church Road Wheatley you will need to prebook a taxi.

Wheelchair Auditorium Spaces: We have conveniently located spaces at the top of the amphitheatre for wheelchair users.
