A Magical Mozart Weekend – Celebrating 25 Years of the Sunningwell Festival
We’re thrilled to invite you to a very special weekend of opera at Opera Anywhere’s unique home venue – The Quarry in Sunningwell, a beautiful open-air performance space set in the garden of our home, nestled within an ancient stone quarry and surrounded by open fields where deer roam freely.
As part of the 25th Anniversary of the Sunningwell Music and Arts Festival, Opera Anywhere is proud to present two of Mozart’s most beloved operas: Così fan tutte and The Marriage of Figaro.
Our venue offers excellent acoustics, enhanced audience facilities, and free on-site parking, with additional parking just 100 metres away in adjoining fields. Early ticket holders will benefit from reserved under-cover seating, and our event is fully catered by our wonderful sponsors, The Barn @ Church Farm, who will be serving delicious food and drinks, including a fully stocked horse box bar with all your summer favourites.
Così fan tutte – A Comedy About Love
Directed by Tristan Stocks, this new and vibrant production of Mozart’s classic comedy is edited and adapted in English, with a fresh twist that brings the story to life in just two fast-paced hours.
Set in early 20th-century Gibraltar, the plot follows a mischievous bet by Don Alfonso, who aims to prove that Ferrando and Guglielmo’s fiancées, Fiordiligi and Dorabella, are just as unfaithful as any other woman. What ensues is a hilarious and insightful journey through love, loyalty, and deception.

The Marriage of Figaro – Love, Change, and Chaos
Mozart’s sparkling masterpiece follows the adventures of Figaro and Susanna, as they prepare for their wedding amid interference from aristocrats who are clinging to the past. Set against the backdrop of changing times, this witty and moving opera explores love, class, and the struggle for freedom.
With a creative New Romantic flair, our English-language adaptation brings this timeless tale to a whole new generation.
